Data Recovery
Recovering photos, documents, and business-critical files from damaged, corrupted, or failed drives.
When You Need Data Recovery
Data loss rarely announces itself in advance. A hard drive starts clicking, a laptop refuses to boot, a drive is accidentally formatted, or a folder of years-old family photos simply disappears. In almost every one of these situations the data is not actually gone, it is inaccessible, and recovering it is a matter of using the right technique for the specific type of failure involved.
Our data recovery service covers both logical failures, where the drive is physically healthy but the data is inaccessible due to corruption, formatting, or deletion, and physical failures, where the drive itself has a hardware fault such as a damaged read/write head, a failing motor, or bad sectors.
Types of Data Loss We Handle
Accidental Deletion & Formatting
When a file is deleted or a drive is formatted, the data usually is not erased immediately, only the reference to it is removed. As long as that space has not been overwritten, we can typically recover the original files using specialised recovery software.
Corrupted File Systems
A drive that suddenly shows as RAW or asks to be formatted when connected usually has a corrupted file system rather than damaged data. We can often rebuild the file system structure or extract files directly from the raw data.
Physically Damaged Drives
Clicking sounds, drives not being detected, or drives that spin up and then stop are signs of a physical hardware fault. These cases require working in a controlled environment to avoid further damaging the platters.
SSD & Flash Storage Recovery
Solid-state drives fail differently from mechanical drives, often due to controller failure or NAND chip wear. Recovery requires different tools than traditional hard drive recovery.
RAID Reconstruction
For businesses running RAID arrays, a single drive failure does not have to mean data loss. We reconstruct RAID arrays by imaging each individual drive and rebuilding the array structure.
Our Data Recovery Process
- Free evaluation before any cost is discussed
- Sector-by-sector imaging wherever possible, so recovery happens on a copy
- File extraction, verification, and organisation for handover
- Confidential delivery on a drive of your choice
Protecting Your Data Going Forward
Once your data is recovered, we are happy to advise on backup strategies, including cloud backup, external drive rotation schedules, and RAID setups.
Confidentiality
We understand recovered data is often sensitive. All recovery work is handled with strict confidentiality, and data is never accessed beyond what is necessary to complete the recovery.
We Recover Data From
- Internal & external hard drives
- SSDs and flash/USB drives
- Formatted or corrupted partitions
- RAID arrays
